Frrrozen Hot Chocolate
"Frrrozen Hot Chocolate" is a specialty at Serendipity 3, on 225 East 60th Street. The recipe cannot be reproduced here, but it has recently been published ia a Serendipity cookbook.

10 April 1965, New York (NY) Times, pg. 20 photo caption:
Three students from Japan dip into giant goblets of "frozen hot chocolate" at Serendipity 3, 225 East 60th St.

17 February 1978, New York (NY) Times, pg. C1:
Serendipitous hot chocolate ($1.35) is, as the name implies, a house specialty, which is the same hot chocolate and whipped cream given the added apanache of chocolate and orange-rind shavings and powdered cinnamon on top. And, though it's off season, there's a frozen hot chocolate ($2.35), which is a sort of slowly melting chocolate geyser that comes in a giant tumbler iwth straws and could stand alone as a dessert for its magnitude. Once past the dramatics of Serendipity's presentations, the chocolate itself is quite goof, being a special formula based on a Dutch chocolate concocted by Joe Sasso, a Manhattan chocolatier. Serendipity, too, uses a cappuccino machine for the final execution.

26 September 1990, New York (NY) Times, pg. C6:
That 30-Plus Serendipity Cafe Honors Itself With a Cookbook
(...)
They have also trademarked the name Frozen Hot Chocolate, the only essential recipe missing fomr the book. Well, not entirely. It's there, but calls for a ladleful of "Serendipity's secret blend," a mix of more than a dozen kinds of chocolate that is still being concocted for commercial sale.

23 May 2004, New York (NY) Daily News, pg. 17:
As part of the 50th-year celebration, recipes for the restaurant's famous desserts, including the hitherto well-kept secret of Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, are revealed in a new books, "Sweet Serendipity, Delicious Desserts & Devilish Dish" by Stephen Bruce with Brett Bara (Rzzoli, $19.95).
