Seguin ( /səˈɡiːn/) is a city in Guadalupe County, Texas, in the United States. It is part of the San Antonio-New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 22,011; the July 1, 2009 Census estimate, however, showed the population had increased to 26,842. It is the county seat of Guadalupe County.

29 August 1893, San Antonio (TX) Daily Light, pg. 2, col. 1:
Seguin Enterprise complains of the money that has been drained out of that city to pay expenses at the World’s fair. There has not been one dollar that has been thus spent but will be to the profit of Seguin in the days that are to come. Attendance at that fair will prove a greater eye-opener than anything that the average Seguinite has struck on this mundane, and he will return better prepared to whoop it up for Seguin and his home paper than when he departed.

26 April 1901, San Antonio (TX) Express, pg. 7, col. 7:
SEGUINITES ARE INTERESTED.
Seguin, Tex, April 25. Seguin has caught the oil fever.

6 November 1907, Galveston (TX) Daily News, pg. 6, col. 6:
Another batch of returning Seguinites is expected from La Cananen, Mex., where the copper mines have closed down.
