Starfucks (Starbucks nickname)

Starbucks Coffee Company is a coffeehouse chain that began in Seattle, Washington in 1971. There are many Starbucks outlets in New York City, especially in Manhattan.

The Starbucks nickname of “Starfucks” (the curse word indicates that it’s derogatory) has been cited in print since at least 1995.

Other Starbucks nicknames include “Charbucks” (since 1994), “Fourbucks”/“Fivebucks” (since 1998) and “Starbugs” (since 2012).

Starbucks is the largest coffeehouse company in the world, with 17,009 stores in 50 countries, including over 11,000 in the United States, over 1,000 in Canada, and over 700 in the United Kingdom.

Starbucks sells drip brewed coffee, espresso-based hot drinks, other hot and cold drinks, coffee beans, salads, hot and cold sandwiches and panini, pastries, snacks, and items such as mugs and tumblers. They take the money sometimes out of the country, even. Every Starfucks looks the same, every starfucks serve the same drinks. It’s digusting! It may be just a fun little project to you, but it could be the end of many Swedish businesses. I say DIE STARBUCKS, DIE!!!!!!

January 2000, Spin magazine, pg. 37, col. 1:
