“Veritas Liberabit Vos” (SMU motto)

Southern Methodist University has a Latin motto taken from the Bible: “Veritas Liberabit Vos” (“The truth shall make you free,” John 8:32).

The Johns Hopkins University motto (that came much before SMU’s) is similar: “Veritas Vos Liberabit.”
