“We Do Dishes” (Fishs Eddy)
'We Do Dishes" is in the window of the Fishs Eddy store (dishware and more). It's not a registered trademark, but it's catchy.

Seventeen years ago, antique collectors Julie Gaines and Dave Lenovitz came across a small flyfishing town in the Catskills that left a big impression: Fishs Eddy. For Julie and Dave, the name had a uniquely American ring to it, perfect for a store specializing in American sturdyware -- dishware from diners and restaurants across the country. Inspired, they opened a second small shop in Manhattan on Hudson Street and Fishs Eddy was born.
Since then Fishs Eddy has expanded its initial vintage selection to include new designs. Still American made, double-fired, commercial grade sturdyware, Fishs Eddy now includes new patterns by Cynthia Rowley, Nicole Miller and others. More stores were opened to meet the growing demand for Fishs Eddy's vintage and custom wares. The tiny Greenwich Village shop is no longer there, but 3 separate locations have taken its place: the flagship store on Broadway and 19th Street, with additional branches on Manhattan's Upper West Side (Broadway and 77th Street), and Upper East Side (Third Avenue and 79th Street).

Quality? Nothing fishy about that. The business has grown but Fishs Eddy's appreciation for the simple beauty and exceptional durability of classic American dishware remains unchanged. For seventeen years, Julie, Dave and the folks at Fishs Eddy have been dishing it out in New York City. Now they're dishing it out online as well. Happy digging.
