“A cup of tea solves everything”

“A cup of tea solves everything” is a tea saying that has been printed on many images. The saying has been cited in print since at least 2003 and 2007.

19 June 2003, The Age (Melbourne, AUstralia), “Rules of the Neighbourhood” by Peter Mattessi, pg. 3:
Producers, editors and storyliners alike know that Neighbours’ strength is its domesticity - “a cup of tea solves everything” is a story team mantra - and so constantly push for a domestic backdrop to scenes.

A friend of mine used to say “A cup of tea solves everything,” but if you are one to favor coffee over tea, the saying rather holds true for a cup of coffee.

A cup of tea solves everything, so they say, especially for Richard Branson. This weekend the Virgin Group boss, who is worth over $5 billion, admitted that he chain-drinks around 20 brews a day – even if he’s abroad.

I once saw a sign that read “A cup of tea solves everything,” and I concur that there aren’t many things in life that can’t be made at least a touch better by a cup of tea or the promise of something stronger when the kids are in bed.
