“Always Be Clicking” (“ABC” of the Internet)

“Always Be Clicking” (the “ABC” of the Internet) is a similar expression to “Always Be Closing” (the “ABC” of selling). “Always Be Clicking” was cited in 2003, when the expression was used in the videogame industry. “She sticks to the ABC’s of videogame realty (Always Be Clicking)” was cited on Twitter on May 8, 2012.

Vooza produced an “Always Be Clicking” video short (featuring an Internet startup) in 2013. Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, on July 30, 2014, did a segment that taught journalism students to appreciate the importance of Internet clicks. A wall poster showed the “Always Be Clicking” slogan.

Advice for a new player?

Gameplay wise? Follow the ABC rule; “Always, be, clicking.” If there’s a unit somewhere standing around, it’s going to be killed while you’re off doing something else. Use waypointing to give your units multiple orders in one go, watch everything, keep everything moving and working in concert and you’re almost guaranteed to win with any army.

Rule #1 of DPS: ABC
So I have often looked at folks who post up regarding “how do I get higher dps?”  Its not always their spec or their gear.  Sometimes its simply a matter of spell or ability rotation and having as little downtime as possible.  So where does ABC come in?  Well ABC stands for in this case Always Be Clicking.  By this we mean you should never not be pushing some ability on your bar.

5. ABC – Always Be Clicking
You can’t be reaching your potential if you don’t hit buttons.  So even when you are following the other rules, you should always be pressing something.  If you are a caster and you have a spell you can cast on the run but it may not be on your rotation, if you are moving out of the bad, this is a good time to let this spell fly, while not optimal its something over nothing.  If you don’t have a damage dealing spell to cast, make sure you cast some kind of self buff, group buff, etc.  The idea is to constantly do something productive.  If you are just standing there moving around avoiding things all the time, then you are not doing your primary job and you might as well be dead.

You Won’t Believe What the Daily Show Did to Teach Students About Clickbait
by Josh Feldman | 11:39 pm, July 30th, 2014
The Daily Show taught journalism students a lesson in how news works these days. Whereas the students correspondent Jordan Klepper spoke to wanted to focus on good, quality stories, Klepper taught them that the real purpose of news is to draw clicks.
(...)
Klepper taught them how news works, and put up a poster with the motto “Always be clicking.” And with the help of a cute baby and “dronies,” Klepper helped make that dream of instant clickability a reality
