“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” is an old saying. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away. But if the doctor is cute, forget the fruit” is a jocular line that has been printed on many images.
“An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but if the doctor is cute, screw the fruit!!!” was posted to the newsgroup alt.acting on July 22, 2001. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away, but if the doctor’s cute then forget the fruit!” was posted to the newsgroup Lifez on March 12, 2005.
“Why are doctors so afraid of apples, anyway?” is another joke on the old adage.
