The 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic caused many people to live in isolation. Many men grew beards, sometimes given the portmanteau word “isobeard” (isolation + beard).
 
”#IsoBeard” was posted on Twitter by RazorWisconsin on March 16, 2020 (and in several follow-up tweets). “People growing isolation beards! How do you not touch your face during the itchy phase of facial hair growth? #isobeard #itscomingofftomorrow #donttouchyourface” was posted on Twitter by Richard Crouse on March 23, 2020. “Isobeard” was entered in the Urban Dictionary on March 31, 2020.
 
A different, meteorology-related definition of “isobeard” was posted on the blog Scott Sabol’s World of Weather on February 7, 2006.
   
“Coveard” (COVID-19/coronavirus + beard) is a similar term.

Also, how could beard density be quantified?
 
Since my background is in meteorology, I took a weather-type term and changed a bit to describe what I needed. In weather, an isobar is a line of equal pressure. So, I thought, the lines showing equal beard density should be appropriately named: ISOBEARD
