Cherpumple (cherry + pumpkin + apple)

"Cherpumple” is a cherry pie, a pumpkin pie and an apple pie baked all in one. The dessert was created by Charles Phoenix and was popularized in 2010, when it was featured in the Wall Street Journal.

Wikipedia: Cherpumple
A cherpumple is a holiday novelty dessert, inspired by Turducken, where several different flavor pies are baked inside of several different flavors of cake, and then stacked together. According to the creator, “Cherpumple is short for cherry, pumpkin and apple pie. The apple pie is baked in spice cake, the pumpkin in yellow and the cherry in white.”

The creator of the recipe, humorist Charles Phoenix, noticed that his family often took a slice of each dessert that was made for holidays, so he decided to create a single dessert that combined all of the flavors.

WSJ Examines The “Turducken Of Desserts”
By Jaya Saxena in Food on November 6, 2010 3:30 PM
Around Thanksgiving, much attention is given to how to not set your house on fire while deep frying a turkey, and to that delicious abomination of a dish, the turducken. But today, the Wall Street Journal (paywall) eye-fucks another dish that gets the Frankenstein treatment, and became an internet sensation. The “cherpumple” is a three-layer cake (yellow, spice, white) with a pie baked inside of each layer (cherry, pumpkin, apple). Creator Charles Phoenix says, “It both intrigues and horrifies people.

First there was the “turducken.” Now comes the “cherpumple.”

The holiday dessert consists of a cherry pie, apple pie and a pumpkin pie, baked into a three-layer cake and topped with frosting.

Like a “turducken” — is a chicken inside of a duck inside of a turkey — the massive mound of sweet gluttony is extremely difficult to make.

“The physics of it provide a kind of ‘will it or won’t it collapse’ situation,” its creator, humorist Charles Phoenix, told The Wall Street Journal.

Fowler explains Cherpumple is six desserts in one: cherry pie baked inside a white cake, a pumpkin pie baked inside a yellow cake and an apple pie baked inside a spice cake. All of the layers are then stacked and sealed with cream cheese frosting.
