Close to everything, far from it all (League City slogan)

League City’s slogan for many years has been “City of Live Oaks and Friendly Folks.” A new slogan—“Close to everything, far from it all”—hints that League City is located close to Houston (“close to everything”), but also close to nature (“far from it all”).

The new slogan has been used since 2001, but has not been trademarked. Gloucester County, New Jersey trademarked “Close to everything, far from it all” in 2005.

Wikipedia: League City, Texas
League City is a city located primarily in Galveston County in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area. The city has a small portion north of Clear Creek within Harris County, Texas zoned for commercial use.

League City is home to several water-side resorts used by people from nearby Houston.

Get Out of Town!
Located between Houston and Galveston, League City has all the charms of a small town with easy access to big city attractions. As we like to say:
Close to Everything Far From it All
Excursions are 5 to 15 minutes away from the Kemah Boardwalk and the high tech adventure of NASA, to Houston attractions and excitement, and the beaches of Galveston Island.

June 2001, Religious Conference Manager, “League City: Close to everything, far from it all”:
Right between Houston and Galveston, you’ll find League City. It’s close enough to enjoy the amenities of big city life, but just far enough to be a tranquil world of its own. Stress disappears with the lapping waters of Clear Lake and the charming shops and tea rooms of the oak-lined historic district.

Surrounded by the rustling palm trees is Houston’s premiere resort and conference center-South Shore Harbour. A favorite with the country’s largest corporations, South Shore Harbour’s superb conference facilities blend discreetly with the amenities of an all-inclusive resort.

Most of the hotel’s 250 deluxe rooms, penthouses and junior suites feature waterfront views.
