Criminal Front Group Media Matters (Media Matters nickname)

Media Matters for America is a progressive media organization that monitors the conservative media, such as Fox News and talk radio host Rush Limbaugh. Media Matters was organized in 2004 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Conservative radio talk show host Mark Levin has called Media Matters a “criminal enterprise” since at least September 2007 and used the term “criminal front group known as Media Matters” since at least December 2009. Levin wrote a Facebook posting on October 7, 2010 titled “Media Matters: Criminal front group.” Politico.com published the story “Media Matters’ war against Fox” on March 26, 2011. On Mark Levin’s radio show on Monday, March 28, 2011, Levin again said that Media Matters’ nonprofit status was a sham and that he would now regularly call the group the “criminal front group Media Matters.”

Other Media Matters nicknames include “Media Mutters” (cited in print since November 2005), “Media Doesn’t Matter” (since April 2006) and “Tedium Tatters” (since November 2009).

Journalist Eric E. Burns has been MMfA’s president since its founding in 2004.

Breitbart Tears Media Matters a New…. well, you know…....
(...)
As usual, the “criminal front group known as Media Matters” (in the words of attorney Mark Levin and which I believe is the phrase they prefer), stepped up to the plate to defend Jennings against the well-deserved attacks.

Who funds Media Matters? Well, we know the loathsome George Soros was Media Matters’ sugar daddy. But it won’t release its donor list, which it’s not required to. But it likes to play games with donor lists filed by others who are required to reveal names, like candidates.

Sean Hannity is free to donate to whomever he wishes. Sean is not a news reporter. He has never claimed to be a news reporter. He has as much a right to donate as George Soros.  Moreover, he is making his donations in his own name, not on behalf Fox or anyone else. There’s nothing unethical or improper about it. His views and donations are open for all to hear and see.

But not so with Media Matters. Media Matters is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization. As a matter of law, it must not use its funds in any political manner. Yet, if you examine the Media Matters website, the only causes it promotes are whatever Obama and the Democrats are promoting.  It is a propaganda outlet for the Democrats.  That’s the sole purpose.  And it attacks any person on TV and radio who disagrees with Obama and the Democrats.  It is not advocating a particular principle, say, free speech.  Media Matters’ entire existence is political.  And I’m confident it works closely with Democrat organizations, PACs, and officials.

The liberal group Media Matters has quietly transformed itself in preparation for what its founder, David Brock, described in an interview as an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” aimed at the Fox News Channel.
