Dirty Sprite

“Dirty Sprite” became popular in 2011 and consists of Sprite, cough syrup, and a Jolly Rancher. A story in the New York (NY) Times on November 4, 2011, stated that a “Dirty Sprite” was Sprite with vodka, but this is incorrect. “Dirty Sprite (Mixtape)” was cited on TheMixtapeDaily on November 16, 2010.

A “Dirty Sprite” of Sprite and Powerade was cited in print in 2012.

Wikipedia: Sprite (soft drink)
Sprite is a colorless, lemon-lime flavored, caffeine-free soft drink, created by the Coca-Cola Company. It was introduced in the United States in 1961. This was Coke’s response to the popularity of 7 Up. It comes in a primarily silver, green, and blue can or a green transparent bottle with a primarily green and blue label.

Dirty Sprite
Slang for lean, sizzurp, codein. purple drank and other street names as well.
2 oz Codeine
1 12 oz can/bottle of Sprite (bottle makes it easier to mix as far as shaking the contents)
1 or 2 grape Jolly Ranchers
I crush a Xanax bar in mine
Shake it up and pour over ice. Sip and lean.

The one flaw of the NYT Lex Luger article is that the writer believes “dirty Sprite” is Sprite w/ vodka and not cough syrup.
