“Eat like no one is watching. Or dance. Whatever”

The song “Come from the Heart” (1987) by Susanna Clark and Richard Leigh contains the lyrics:

“Sing like no one is listening.
Love like you’ve never been hurt.
Dance like nobody’s watching,
and live like it’s heaven on earth.”

“Eat like no one is watching. Or dance. Whatever” is a jocular variation that has been printed on many images. ““Eat like no one is watching, shop like the bill will never come” was cited in a 2003 newspaper. “Eat like no one is watching, dance like you’ve been drinking laugh like you just watched a fat man fall down a flight of stairs” was posted on Twitter on June 17, 2009.

“Eat like no one is watching, or dance. Whatever.” was posted on Twitter on April 21, 2013.

“Eat like no one is going to see you naked” is a similar saying.

6 October 2003, The Courier-Journal (Louisville, KY), “Ladybug boutique makes room for more gifts,” pg. F1:
Last week, Bollinger was sitting curled up in the front of the store on a green couch with colored fringe lining. Pillows with embroidered messages like, “There’s so little difference between husbands, you might as well keep the first one,” and, “Eat like no one is watching, shop like the bill will never come,” lined the couch around her. She sported a jean jacket, similar to the ones on the back wall, over a red T-shirt and black capri pants.
