The sun shines down on the earth, and plants process the energy from the light into new components that hold sugars throughout them. Animals eat those plants, processing the components and sugars into different components and different sugars. We eat those animals, and in doing so take energy that comes from the sun and has been processed through plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria.
I subsist entirely off a steady diet of sun.
