Fifth Avenue Mile
The Fifth Avenue Mile is sponsored by New York Road Runners. Since 1981, it's been run for one mile down Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The popular race has had various sponsorships, including Continental Airlines and Donald Trump.

Saturday, September 24 | Fifth Avenue at East 80th Street, New York

The world's fastest milers will converge on New York's world-famous thoroughfare this September to burn up 5,280 feet of pavement. Watch the professionals battle it out for the title after setting your own personal best.

Course
The race starts on Manhattan's famed Fifth Avenue at East 80th Street, in the heart of "Museum Mile." From there it heads one mile south on Fifth Avenue to the finish at East 60th Street.

Schedule of Events
Entrants will be broken into heats according to the following schedule. You must run the heat corresponding to your age & gender.

Wheelchairs/Handcycles: 10:00 a.m.

Open Categories:
Ages 8-14 10:10 a.m.
Women 15-29 10:30 a.m
Men 15-29 10:45 a.m.
Women 30-39 11:00 a.m.
Men 30-34 11:15 a.m.
Men 35-39 11:30 a.m.
Women 40-49 11:45 a.m.
Men 40-49 noon
Men and Women 50-59 12:15 p.m.

George Sheehan Memorial Mile:
Men and Women 60-69 12:35 p.m.
Men and Women 70+ 12:55 p.m.

Professional Athletes:
Women 1:20 p.m.
Men 1:35 p.m.

Check-In/Registration
Entrants are required to pick up their numbers, scoring chips, and race souvenirs at check-in. It is also possible to register for the race at check-in. Prior to race day, check-in takes place at New York Road Runners (9 East 89th Street, between Madison and Fifth Avenues, New York) on:
• Thursday, September 22, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
• Friday, September 23, 1:00-7:00 p.m.
On race day, Saturday, September 24, check-in is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. near the start, at the registration tent on Fifth Avenue at East 79th Street. Race day registrations will be accepted until 11:30 a.m. If you are checking in on race day, we ask that you do so at least a half-hour before your heat starts.

Participant Photos
