“Four wheels carry the body; two wheels move the soul” (motorcycle aphorism)

“Four wheels carry the body; two wheels move the soul” is a popular motorcycle saying that has been printed on many gift items such as posters and T-shirts. The saying has been cited in print since at least 2000, but the authorship is unknown.

It’s said that four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul. I didn’t really get that until recently, when I took Harley-Davidson’s Steel Toe Tour of its 650,000-square-foot Vehicle Operations Plant in York, Pa.
