Godfellas (God’s work + Goodfellas); Goldfellas (Goldman Sachs + Goodfellas)

Goldfellas (2009) is a short video spoof, created by comedian Matt Rittberg, of the film Goodfellas (1990) and the financial firm of Goldman Sachs.

“Godfellas” is a term that was used in April 2012, combining the film Goodfellas and the November 2009 joke of Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein, who claimed that he was “doing God’s work.”

Wikipedias: Goodfellas
Goodfellas (stylized as GoodFellas) is a 1990 American crime film directed by Martin Scorsese. It is a film adaptation of the 1986 non-fiction book Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scorsese. The film follows the rise and fall of Lucchese crime family associates Henry Hill and his friends over a period from 1955 to 1980.

Goldfellas (Goodfellas spoof based on Goldman Sachs)
Comedian Matt Rittberg (http://www.mattrittberg.com) creates a hilarious spoof of “Goodfellas” based on Goldman Sachs outrageous compensation and Wall Street excess. Lloyd Blankfein, Goldman’s CEO, sent out a memo recently telling his top employees not to buy anything flashy with their bonuses. This a parody of the scene after the heist where De Niro tells his mob guys the same thing! Is Goldman stealing from the American public? Watch this video and decide for yourself.

GoldFellas: GoodFellas Meets Goldman Sachs In His New Viral Video
Of the success of his past viral video hit “I’m the Kind of Guy You Meet at 4am”, Matt Rittberg (Penn Law 2005) has now come up with a funny spoof based on Goldman Sachs outrageous compensation and Wall Street excess.

Earlier this year, Lloyd Blankfein, Goldman’s CEO, sent out a memo telling his top employees not to buy anything flashy with their bonuses. Matt’s video above is a parody of the scene in Goodfellas after the heist where De Niro tells his mob guys the same thing! Is Goldman stealing from the American public?

MF Global Roundup: the [so-far] Great Escape of “Teflon Don” Corzine; Bankruptcy Shenanigans Exposed; the “F” Word Revisited
Ahead of Tuesday’s Senate Banking Committee hearing on MF Global, we present the April 20 installment of Capital Account with Lauren Lyster, featuring futures industry veteran guest, Mark Melin.  Ms. Lyster pulls no punches in the opener:
(...)
Bernie Madoff is a prime example…Madoff is securely behind bars, but Jon “Teflon Don” Corzine is busy ordering carmel-Frappuchinos at the local Starbucks as he goes to shop for office space in New York…bothered only by the low din of discontent emanating from the blogosphere (and shows like this, Capital Account).  What a nuiscance we must be to the new God-fellas of Wall Street…
(This article is also at Zero Hedge, where the term “God-fellas” is linked to a 2009 article about Goldman Sachs “doing God’s work”—ed.)
