The New York Yankees usually have one of the highest team payrolls in all of major league baseball. However, the Yankees don’t always make the playoffs. “I don’t like the Yankees, but I’m a huge fan of being overpaid to underperform” is a jocular saying by someone who’s not a Yankees fan.
The saying was printed on an ecard and was first posted on Twitter on October 16, 2012.
