A “soft drink” isn’t necessarily physically soft, but there’s a joke:
“Did you hear about the guy who got hit in the head with a can of soda? He was lucky it was a soft drink.”
The joke was cited on Twitter on December 1, 2008 and has been printed on several images.

Yesterday someone hit my head with a soda can, luckily it was a soft drink.
