“I have a weight problem—I can’t wait to eat”

"I have a weight problem—I can’t wait to eat!” is a pun that has been printed on T-shirts. “I’ve got a weight problem—I can’t wait to eat!” has been cited in print since at least 1996. The saying has not been credited to any specific author.

America has already resigned itself to being fat (popular culture, be it Roseanne or Oprah or the Far Side, is ballooning, and the “futile effort” and “I’ve got a weight problem—I can’t wait to eat!” jokes are presented with sarcastic abandon in the sitcoms and daily funnies).
