“I like my women like I like my coffee” is a meme that has been used on many images. “A Negro comedian pulled this one: ‘I like my coffee strong and black—the same way I like my women’” was cited in the New York (NY) Amsterdam News in July 1944. “Hot..and black, too” was an answer in 1973. “Hot and sweet” was cited in 1974. “Hot, sweet and black” was cited in 1994.
 
“I like my women like I like my coffee. Hot and on my lap” is a saying that is a jocular take on the 1994 McDonald’s hot coffee spill lawsuit. “I like my women same as I like my coffee…Very hot and on my lap” was posted to the newsgroup alt.slack on January 20, 2001.

A New Mexico civil jury awarded $2.86 million to plaintiff Stella Liebeck, a 79-year-old woman who suffered third-degree burns in her pelvic region when she accidentally spilled hot coffee in her lap after purchasing it from a McDonald’s restaurant. Liebeck was hospitalized for eight days while she underwent skin grafting, followed by two years of medical treatment.
