“If at first you donut succeed, fry, fry again”

“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” is a popular American poem from at least 1838. “If at first you donut succeed, try, try again” was cited on Twitter on May 2, 2009, and “If at first you donut succeed, fry, fry again” was cited on Twitter on October 27, 2012. CakeSpy.com has often used the jocular donut version of the old saying.

I mean, seriously. Aside from the fact that they are delicious, their very name is one of my favorite words to pun with. Some of my favorites:

If at first you donut succeed, fry, fry again.
Dead men donut bite.
Donut stop thinking about tomorrow.
Damned if you do and damned if you donut.
Donut have a cow!
Donut Stop Believin’.
