“If you eat it in the car before you get home, it never existed” is a jocular one-line saying about take-home food that has been printed on an ecard. “Yeah but if you eat ur whole ice cream in the car before u get home its basically like it never happened” was posted on Twitter on July 5, 2011. “I know some people who say ‘if you eat it in the car before you get home, the calories don’t count!’” was posted on Twitter on September 7, 2012.

“Junk Food Rule: If you eat it all in the car before you get home, it never happened” was posted on Twitter on January 16, 2013. “If you eat it in the car before you get home, it never existed” was posted on Twitter by “RumAndReeses” on November 11, 2013, and this form of the saying went viral.
