“Many years ago I resolved never to bother with New Year’s resolutions, and I’ve stuck with it ever since” is a jocular New Year’s one-line saying that has been printed on many images. Baseball pitcher Dave Beard, who played from 1980 to 1989, is credited with the remark.
However, contemporary (1980s) or early (pre-2000) citations have not been found. The line was posted on Twitter on December 31, 2009.
