“Microwave minutes are longer than regular minutes”

“Microwave minutes are longer than regular minutes” is a jocular one-line saying that has been printed on many images. It’s difficult to wait for food to cook in the microwave when one is hungry.
   
“Don’t you think microwave minutes are the longest there will ever be?” was cited in print in 2002. “I swear microwave minutes are longer than real ones!!!” was posted on Twitter on July 27, 2009. “Microwave minutes” was an entry in the Urban Dictionary on December 20, 2009.
 
“School minutes are longer than regular minutes” is a similar saying, and the sayings are often combined. “School and microwave minutes are the longggest” was posted on Twitter on September 26, 2011. “Seems like school and microwave minutes are longer than regular minutes” was posted on Twitter on March 15, 2013.
