Much Deeper (Doctor of Medicine or MD backronym)

The college degrees of B.S., M.S., Ph.D. and M.D. are jokingly said to stand for “bullshit,” “more shit (or “more of the same”), “piled higher and deeper” and “much deeper.” These are humorous back-acronyms or “backronyms.”

“‘M.D.’ is Much Deeper” was cited in print in 2006 and has been used only infrequently. Another M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree backronym is “Money Doctor.”

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree is sometimes called “Bachelor of Fuck All.” The Bachelor of Science degree is frequently called B.S. (“bull shit”) and the Master of Science degree is called M.S. (“more shit” or “more of the same”), with both referenced in print since at least 1932.

Backronyms for the M.B.A. (Master of Business Administration) degree include “Massive Bank Account,” “Master Bullshit Artist,” “Mediocre But Aggressive” and “Mediocre But Arrogant.”

Ph.D. backronyms include “Papa Has Dough,” “Permanent Head Damage,” “Piled Higher and Deeper,” “Pizza Hut Deliveryman,” “Poor, Hungry Doctor,” “Poor, Hungry and Driven”  and “Pretty Huge Debt.”

Wikipedia: Doctor of Medicine
Doctor of Medicine (MD or DM), or in Latin: Medicinae Doctor, meaning “Teacher of Medicine”, is a terminal degree for physicians and surgeons. In countries that follow the tradition of the United States, it is a first professional graduate degree awarded upon graduation from medical school. In countries that follow the tradition of the United Kingdom, the title of the equivalent medical degree is instead styled as Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. In those countries, the MD may either be a research doctorate (akin to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)), an advanced clinical coursework degree (akin to the Master of Surgery), or an honorary or higher doctorate reserved for medical graduates.
