New York Times-Democrat (New York Times nickname)

The New York (NY) Times is a daily newspaper that has been published in New York City since 1851. Although the newspaper’s motto is “All the news that’s fit to print,” conservative critics have long claimed that the newspaper has a strong liberal bias and favors the Democratic party.

The Times nickname of New York Times-Democrat has been cited in print since at least 2003.

Other Times nicknames include “Gray Lady,” “Jew York Times,”  “New Duranty Times,” “New York Crimes,” “New York Slimes,” “New Yuck Times,” “Old York Times,” “Pravda on the Hudson” and “Toilet Paper of Record.”

Wikipedia: The New York Times
The New York Times (NYT) is an American daily newspaper founded and continuously published in New York City since 1851. The New York Times has won 108 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any news organization. Its website is the most popular American online newspaper website, receiving more than 30 million unique visitors per month.

Although the print version of the paper remains both the largest local metropolitan newspaper in the United States, as well as the third largest newspaper overall, behind The Wall Street Journal and USA Today, its weekday circulation has fallen since 1990 (as have other newspapers) to fewer than one million copies daily. Nicknamed “the Old Gray Lady”, and long regarded within the industry as a national “newspaper of record”, The New York Times is owned by The New York Times Company, which also publishes 18 other newspapers including the International Herald Tribune and The Boston Globe. The company’s chairman is Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr., whose family has controlled the paper since 1896.

New York Times-Democrat Reports Hussein Feared Captured
December 14, 2003
by Bruce Walker
The New York Times-Democrat has learned that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was captured at approximately 8:30 on Saturday, December 13th. American forces, using military equipment harmful to the environment, conducted a potentially unconstitutional arrest of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. The Iraqi leader offered no resistance to the arrest.

Name Change Needed: The New York Times-Democrat
Times for a Name Change: Honesty’s the Best Policy

It’d be an overdue act of integrity if the country’s most influential liberal daily newspaper altered its name to The New York Times-Democrat. Any number of editorial employees might actually applaud the liberating move, but the “branding” implications would kill the idea in the business and marketing departments. Likewise, the elimination of the anachronistic and grand motto (and the Times sneers about George W. Bush’s “hubris”!) “All the News That’s Fit to Print” won’t happen on a Sulzberger watch, even if the company’s extensive tax breaks from the city aren’t considered “news.”

2. Debate with whom? With the editors of The New York Times-Democrat, DailyKos diarists and Michael Moore would be pointless.

I’d love for anyone to ask the stupid, stupid, stupid leftist Bob Schieffer to demand that CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, NPR, CNN, A-Mess-NBC, HBO, Showtime, the New York Times-Democrat, the Washington Post-Democrat, the Associated (with terrorists) Press, al Reuters, al Jazeera, al McClatchy, Time magazine, et al., stop producing and running their endless attack ads against Republicans, the rest of the pro-America community and the United States of America.

Truth in Labeling: Why Not Just Call The Media Democrats?
Michael Friedman
Why not just label the media Democrats?  A crucial election is coming and it is time for conservatives to play smash mouth with the Democratic media machine.  The self-proclaimed objective media need to be called out and repositioned as Democrats.  The New York Times Democrat (NYTD), the Washington Post Democrat (WaPoD), the Associated Press Democrat (APD), CBSD, ABCD, 60 Democratic Minutes, George Stepanoplous Democrat, David Gregory Democrat,...  The Democrats enormous media advantage needs to be minimized.

And where is the cacophony of idiots at Vanity Fair and The New York Times-Democrat, which devoted hundreds upon hundreds of column-inches to Valerie Plame?
