“Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels”

“Nothing tastes as good as (being) skinny/thin feels” is a popular saying that has been printed on gift items such as T-shirts and posters. “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels” has been cited in print since at least February 1984, when it was said by a Weight Watchers instructor.

The waifish supermodel Kate Moss was interviewed by Women’s Wear Daily (WWD) in November 2009 and was asked for her personal motto. Moss replaced the word “thin” with “skinny” and said, “Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”

Kate Moss (born 16 January 1974) is an English model who is known for her waifish figure and popularising the heroin chic look in the 1990s. She is also known for her controversial private life, high profile relationships, party lifestyle, and drug use. Moss changed the look of modelling and started a global debate on eating disorders, and her role in size zero fashion. In 2007, she came 2nd on the Forbes top-earning models list, estimated to have earned $9 million in one year.

“It’s not the food that made you fat; it’s the habits,” says Diane Thomas (R), a leader of Weight Watchers classes at New London Square and Merchants Walk shopping centers. “Nothing tastes as good as thin feels.”

The attractive teacher then passed out gum to each participant and counseled, “Save this until you’re in the kitchen fixing dinner tomorrow. Pop this in your mouth to keep from sampling.”

“Nothing tastes as good as thin feels,” Diane observed.

Kate Moss criticized after skinny-is-good remark
Updated 11/19/2009 12:02 PM
LONDON (AP) — Campaigners against eating disorders are criticizing Kate Moss after the supermodel cited as her motto a phrase used on pro-anorexia websites.
Asked her motto in an interview with fashion website WWD, Moss replied that one of them was “nothing tastes as good as skinny feels.”

The same slogan is posted on websites encouraging girls not to eat.
