Office Cheapo (Office Depot nickname)

Office Depot is an office products and services retailer that began in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, in 1986. The nickname “Office Cheapo” has been cited in print since at least 1997.
   
Office Depot has also been nicknamed “Office Despot” since at least 1995. Home Depot has been nicknamed “Home Cheapo” since at least 1994.

I find the “dark noise” problem (banding in shadow areas of the slide) to be so obnoxious as to render the scanner worthless on slides.  It’s going back to Office Cheapo.

Took the unit(s) back and got a refund. Lady at Office Cheapo said they have been getting a lot of them back for different reasons.

Most folks shopping at someplace like Office Cheapo may not be inclined to get a device that requires them to open up their laptop, but I think a lot of people would.
