McSteak (McDonald’s + steak)

McDonald’s restaurants served a “Chopped Beefsteak Sandwich” in 1979, but it was discontinued. It was not called “McSteak” (that sounds like “mistake”), but McDonald’s did attempt to trademark “McSteak” in 1990.

“oh that was a Mcsteak…” was posted on Twitter by Kenneth S. Zawacki on October 1, 2008. “McSteak” was entered in the Urban Dictionary on February 28, 2010.

“Did you hear about McDonald’s trying to get into the high end steakhouse market? It was a Big Mcsteak” was posted on Reddit—Jokes on September 25, 2018. “Why does McDonalds not have a steak sandwich on the menu? Because it would be a McSteak” was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes on August 7, 2020.

Chopped Beefsteak Sandwich
The Chopped Beefsteak Sandwich was a burger introduced by McDonald’s in 1979.

The product consisted of a long beef patty, with a long bun, onions, and Steak Sauce. It also came with Onion Nuggets, as a Side Item. The item was sold from 4PM to 9PM.

However, the product was pulled off the shelves around the 80’s, due to the product failing to get past the “test product” stage. One of the reasons was because it was pricey, as it costed $1.29, when the regular burger costed 40¢.

McSteak
Back in the day when you used to add Mc infront of alot of words - this word managed to last the test of time, McSteak is another word for mistake.
It’s also funny because whenever McDonalds brought out a steak burger it was always terrible.

The McRib is pretty good. But I hope they don’t make a fast food version of a T-bone. That would be a huge McSteak.
