Repugnican (Republican party nickname)

"Repugnican” (repugnant + Republican) is a derogatory nickname for a member of the Republican party. “Repugnican” is cited in print from November 1994, but most of the printed citations date from the election year 2000 (the presidential election of Republican George W. Bush over Democrat Al Gore).

The term “Repugnican” (usually, but not always, capitalized) has been used quite frequently on websites and blogs.

Urban Dictionary
Repugnican
A pejorative for a member or political believer of the United States Republican Party. Term hybrids both Repugnant and Republican.
Comment: Did you know that guy is pro-life? Response: Well, he’s a Repugnican so what’s the big surprise?

Further, liberals do not fear the ersatz “Contract With America” advanced by the Repugnicans; they scorn it for the pandering class warfare it really is.

Oh?  Since wen was the FBI part of the Right Wing of the Repugnican Party, or FEMA?  Let’s recognize that the established wings of the Repugnican party are no friends of ours.  The members of the party are, but the leadership isn’t.

In any case, libertarians are not progressive in any sense of the word. “Of, relating to, or characterized by progress”? You can’t be serious. “Of, relating to, or characterized by selfishness and an unwillingness to shoulder civic responsibilities” or “even worse than the Repugnicans” would be closer to the mark.

20 August 2000, Washington (DC) Post:
(e.g., Repugnicans: Same party, just more honest about what they’re up to. Gliberals: Just like the liberals, but at least they seem to be making sense.)

Citizens for Legitimate Government
I want to join the Repugnican party, so I can be pro-life, fetishize white American fetuses, while bombing full-grown brown people in Afghanistan, Iraq, or wherever the pesky bastard unwashed unchristian heathens may run, into kingdom come—which for them is surely Hell itself.
