“Rice milk? I didn’t even know rice had nipples”

“What’s this about rice milk? I didn’t even know rice had nipples!” is a rice milk joke that has been printed on several images. “Rice milk (I didn’t even know rice had nipples)” was published in a newspaper from Wales on February 2002.

“I saw rice milk in the store. I didn’t even know rice had nipples” was popularized in the stand-up comedy act of New York-born comedian Demetri Martin, although it’s not known if Martin had told the joke as early as 2002.

Wikipedia: Rice milk
Rice milk is a grain milk made from rice. It is mostly made from brown rice and commonly unsweetened. The sweetness in most rice milk varieties is generated by a natural enzymatic process that cleaves the carbohydrates into sugars, especially glucose, similar to the Japanese amazake. Some rice milks may nevertheless be sweetened with sugarcane syrup or other sugars.

I mean, if she wants to put herself through it, spend hours trudging through bizarre health food shops looking for ludicrously expensive wheat-free bread (well, if it’s wheatfree it’s not bloody bread, is it? ), rice milk (I didn’t even know rice had nipples) and millet (strictly for the birds) - all staples for the devoted detoxer - good for her.
