“Rule #1 to working out: Never skip Monday”

“Rule #1 to working out: Never skip Monday” is a saying that has been printed on many images. “Never skip Monday workouts. It gets your week started off the right way. I’m glad I didn’t!” was posted on Twitter on October 25, 2010. “My advise? Never skip Monday workouts. The rest of your week will not be what you want” was posted on Twitter on January 31, 2011.
 
Four fitness rules were posted on the Pfit blog on February 1, 2013 and then on Twitter on February 10, 2013. According to these popular rules, the “Monday” rule is third:
   
“Rule #1 never go more than 1 day w/o exercise (also “3 days”—ed.)
Rule #2 work out at least 4 days a week (also “3 days”—ed.)
Rule #3 never miss a Monday
Rule #4 never give up”

Rule #3: I will never miss a __(day of the week).
One of my rules is to never miss a Monday. Mondays are the best day for most people to start fresh. By committing to hitting it hard every Monday, you increase your chances of sticking with it during the week too. If nothing else, you will begin to develop some consistency. 4 workouts a month is much better than none. And, if you follow the first 3 rules alone, you are working out 3 times a week Monday – Thursday, and that’s not too shabby!
