Spokes-idiot (spokesman/spokesperson + idiot)

“Spokes-idiot” or “spokesidiot” (spokesman/spokesperson + idiot) is a term used by those who believe that a spokesperson is making nonsensical points. The “spokes-idiot” term is often directed at the White House Press Secretary, the spokesperson for the executive branch of government.

“Spokes-idiot” has been cited in print since at least 1998. Other nicknames for a spokesman/spokesperson include “spokes-hack,” “spokeshole,” “spokes-liar” and “spokes-tool.”
