STFR (Sell The Fucking Rip; Sell The Fucking Rally)

“STFR” stands for “Sell The Fucking Rip” or “Sell The Fucking Rally.” According to this theory, if the price of an asset rises, then one should sell. ” I was asking if STFR meant Sell the F*ck!ng Rally” was cited on Twitter on January 2011. “Everybody is B.T.F.D.. I am S.T.F.R. this week..” was cited on Traders-Talk in February 2011.

“BTFD” (Buy The Fucking Dip) was popularized in November-December 2010. This theory holds if an asset price dips, once should buy more because the price will soon go back up.

“BTFATH” (Buy The Fucking All Time High) was coined in July 2013. This theory holds that if the price of an asset rises to an all time high, one should buy more because the price will to continue to go up.

“BTFWWIII” (Buy The Fucking World War III) was coined by the Zero Hedge blog on Twitter on March 2, 2014. The United States and Russia were both causing civil unrest in Ukraine, possibly leading to World War III. All of the jocular investment strategies poke fun at a stock market that is seemingly manipulated by fiat money printing.

I notice a shift in board sentiment:

1) Nobody is calling for THEEEE TOP anymore.. yes correction might occur, but we will still go higher is the common consensus.
2) I think many bears have been burnt and might be applying a taking profits early precaution, or even switch to buying the dip.
3) 99% of blogs I read says to BTFD.
