“The only thing not delivered by a truck is a baby” is a jocular saying that has been printed on bumper stickers. The saying has been cited in print since at least 2000.
“If you bought it, a truck brought it” is another saying about trucks.

I am a professional truck driver. The recent letter from “A Fitness Cyclist for 40 Years” inspired me to explain to teh public why truck drivers do certain things on the road.
We cahnge from one lane to another to avoid a vehicle that has broken down, a police officer stopped on the side of the road or a cyclist. People do not realize the draft from a large truck could pull a cyclist toward the trailer and under the wheels. Please, drivers, do not try to pass us on the right when we change lanes. Wait until we return to our lane.
Also, when it’s raining, please turn your headlights on so we can see you. And please don’t rave to get ahead of us at an off-ramp.
People may not like trucks on the road Abby, but remember - the only thing not delivered by a truck is a baby!

Truck driver tries to bring attention to safety on the roads

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -
According to the American Trucking Industry, trucks move roughly 67% of the nation’s freight by weight. That’s two-thirds of the nation’s goods that share the roads with others drivers, every day. One semi driver one is using his passion for the industry to pave the way for safety on the roads.

“Everything that is on your store shelves, the food that you eat, the car you drive, the building materials in your house—have all been on a truck. You know the old saying is the only thing that a truck has not delivered is a baby…but we do deliver the medical supplies,” said professional truck driver, Randy Luschen.
