Trayvonista (Trayvon Martin + -ista)

A “Trayvonista” (Trayvon Marton + -ista, as in words such as “Sandinista” and “fashionista”) is a supporter of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed teenager who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman on February 26, 2012. On July 13, 2013, Zimmerman was found “not guilty” in the incident, after it was revealed that Zimmerman shot only after numerous cries for help and while he was on the ground, with Martin hitting Zimmerman’s head into the sidewalk. Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch coordinator, had followed Martin in what some had claimed was racial profiling.

“Trayvonista” was cited in print in March 2012, but had numerous citations in July 2013, after Zimmerman’s acquittal. The term “Trayvonista” is not used by Trayvon Martin supporters and can be considered derogatory.

Wikipedia: Shooting of Trayvon Martin
The fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman took place on the night of February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida, United States. Martin was a 17-year-old African American high school student. George Zimmerman, a 28-year-old mixed-race Hispanic, was the neighborhood watch coordinator for the gated community where Martin was temporarily staying and where the shooting took place. Following an earlier call from Zimmerman, police arrived within two minutes of a gunshot during a scuffle. Zimmerman was taken into custody, treated for head injuries, then questioned for five hours, but eventually released under the supposition the shooting was in self-defense. However, six weeks later, amidst what some have described as a “media circus” atmosphere involving accusations of racism, Zimmerman was charged with murder by a new prosecutor.

Zimmerman’s trial began on June 10, 2013, in Sanford. On July 13, 2013, a jury of six women, all but one who are described as white, found him not guilty of second-degree murder and of manslaughter charges.

Um, hold that thought!
...or, not so fast, you there with the knotted rope!

More information has washed up in the flotsam of the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman tidal wave that casts the February 29th homicide in a somewhat different light than what the media and Trayvon-istas have presented over the past fortnight.

Zimmerman: Forward Movement -

Benjamin Crump convened a press conference to say that George Zimmerman’s medical records should be subpoenaed. I don’t usually comment on Mr Crump, but since he inserted himself here, I shall comment this time.

From the beginning, Mr Crump and the Trayvonistas have tried to supply a series of malicious reasons that would explain why Zimmerman shot the Trayvon Martin. Trouble is, each of those explanations they have supplied has fallen apart under closer scrutiny when examined in full sunlight.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police are investigating a battery that happened near 26th and Cherry around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 14th.

A 34-year-old Wauwatosa man told police that he was walking through Tiefenthaler Park from a friend’s house when he was punched in the back of the head by an unknown suspect, knocking him down. The victim says that several other suspects then punched and kicked him. Officials say the victim further alleges that he heard one of the suspects refer to Trayvon Martin as they were striking him.
