United Bank of Swindlers or Union Bank of Swindlers (UBS nickname)

UBS (originally the Union Bank of Switzerland) is one of the world’s largest banks and has several branches in Manhattan. Barry Ritholtz’s blog, The Big Picture, on August 20, 2009, listed many jocular names that “UBS” stands for.

UBS has been nicknamed the “United Bank of Swindlers” (or “Union Bank of Swindlers”) since at least 2009. Other UBS nicknames include “U’ve Been Sacked” (cited in print since 1997) and “Union des Bandits Suisses”  (cited since at least 2001).

A similar nickname to “United Bank of Swindlers” for UBS is “Royal Bank of Swindlers” for RBS.

Wikipedia: UBS
UBS AG (SIX: UBSN, NYSE: UBS) is a Swiss global financial services company headquartered in Basel and Zürich, Switzerland, which provides investment banking, asset management, and wealth management services for private, corporate, and institutional clients worldwide, as well as retail clients in Switzerland. It is the world’s second largest manager of private wealth assets, with over CHF 2.2 trillion in invested assets. UBS operates in all of the major financial centers worldwide with offices in over 50 countries and 64,000 employees around the world. UBS traces its heritage, through its predecessors, to 1854.

UBS was originally an abbreviation for the Union Bank of Switzerland, one of its predecessors; however, UBS ceased to be considered a representational abbreviation after its 1998 merger with Swiss Bank Corporation.

The truth about the United Bank of Swindlers
This is the story of a case that is a catalogue of disaster, mismanagement and incompetence by UBS AG, the world’s largest and most powerful private banker, Switzerland’s leading bank. The case involves evidence of fraud and deceit, and demonstrates a startling absence of honesty, integrity, and good faith by those UBS employees and of UBS itself. The evidence shows not only fraudulent conduct by the Bank in the first place, but also evidence of deliberate destruction and concealment of evidence, and most important of all the persistence, by a number of UBS personnel, in making statements of untruth (perjury) before the Supreme Courts in England and Singapore, in what can be described as nothing short of a wide ranging unrelentless attempt to hide the truth from the justice.

I work at the Union Bank of Swindlers. I am so disgusted with the lack of ethics in dealing with the Tax cheats that I want to quit but I can’t afford to.
