“Unlocking your phone with facial recognition must suck if you’re a twin”

Many computer systems have facial recognition software, but does the system work for identical twins? Some facial recognition systems claim that twins can be recognized. The issue was discussed with the introduction of Apple’s iPhone X on September 12, 2017.

“Hmm…but what if someone got a nose job or something. would the facial recognition freak out? and what if you had a twin?” was posted on Twitter on March 26, 2008. “Except @saverqueen was complaining the other day that facial recognition sucks if you have a twin” was posted on Twitter on March 6, 2009.

Wikipedia: Facial recognition system
A face recognition system is a computer application capable of identifying or verifying a person from a digital image or a video frame from a video source. One of the ways to do this is by comparing selected facial features from the image and a face database.

It is typically used in security systems and can be compared to other biometrics such as fingerprint or eye iris recognition systems. Recently, it has also become popular as a commercial identification and marketing tool.
