Big Things Happen Here (Dallas slogan)

“Big Things Happen Here” is a slogan for the city of Dallas, Texas, that was introduced in October 2012. The slogan (trademarked by the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau) was used in a five million dollar advertising campaign.
 
Other Dallas slogans include “Live Large, Think Big” (since 2004) and the unofficial “Where the East Ends.”

Dallas is stepping up its bid to attract conventions, tourists and even relocating businesses by launching a branding and marketing campaign funded with a new $5 million war chest.
 
The campaign, which will be unveiled officially Friday at the annual meeting of the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau, marks the city’s first ever multimillion-dollar multimedia campaign aimed at luring visitors away from competing communities. At stake is millions in potential revenue for hotels, restaurants and taxi drivers.

Dallas unveils new brand: Big things happen here

Dallas unleashed a new branding campaign Friday morning at the annual Dallas Convention and Visitors Bureau meeting in hopes of boosting the city’s image and presence.
 
Dallas’ new message: Big things happen here.
 
The brand — including a new tag line and logo —will get the help of $5 million from the City of Dallas. The funds are raised through a self-imposed hotel tax, or a 2 percent fee. The advertising campaign will cost $3.5 million of those funds, city officials said.

Starting in January, the city’s new slogan is “Big Things Happen Here.” A new campaign by the city aims to grow that impression beyond our borders.
 
“I think it’s more than just ideas, it’s about actions and events,” said President and CEO of the Convention and Visitors Bureau Phillip Jones. “It’s based on the fact that Dallas is a city of success and it’s where optimism meets opportunity.”
