Newsradio; “Give us 22 minutes, we’ll give you the world”
WINS and WCBS were two of the very first "all news" radio stations in the country.

WCBS has used the word "newsradio."

WINS has promised "You give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the world." Someone will "show me the world" in twenty-two minutes?

20 April 1965, New York Times, pg. 79:
Radio: Continuous News on WINS
(...)
The unknown question, of course, is how WINS will do economically. There is not much incentive to stay with the station after one has heard the news, which yesterday did not take beyond about 10 or 15 minutes.

28 July 1967, Washington Post, pg. C6:
WCBS Is Adopting
All-News Format
(...)
The claim of being the first all-news station in this country is made by WNUS in Chicago, a member of the McClendon group, which dumped its top 40 pop tunes format in September 1964.

WINS, New York, made the change in April 1965 and a sister station in Group W, the Westinghouse Broadcasting Co. Philadelphia's KYW, followed that septmeber.
