The Iguana Grill on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas, has a drink called the “Texartini.” The Iguana Grill doesn’t state the Texartini’s ingredients, but provides a fictitious history: “This martini was invented in 1909 by Pancho Villa’s personal bartender, Tex Martinez.”
The “Texartini” drink appears to be the same as a “Mexican Martini” or perhaps a “Texatini.”

This martini was invented in 1909 by Pancho Villa’s personal bartender, Tex Martinez. Surprisingly, the recipe reappeared in 1910 at the old Knickerbocker Hotel in NYC. Due to the absence of tequila, gin was substituted. The rest is history.

I liked the Texartini I ordered, it was like a lighter version of a margarita.
Above, a 1934 plaque from the Big Apple Night Club at West 135th Street and Seventh Avenue in Harlem. Discarded as trash in 2006. Now a Popeyes fast food restaurant on Google Maps.
