“When people have nothing left to lose, they lose it”

Gerald Celente, founder of theTrends Research Institute and a frequent guest on news programs, said frequently since at least 2008:

“When people have nothing left to lose, and they’ve lost everything, they lose it.”

Celente means that when people are desperate, “they lose it”—disrespecting existing laws and governments. Desperate people can start successful revolutions.

The quotation has been frequently cited in newspaper articles and on blogs.

Anyone hear George Celente on C2C last night??
OMG…he was talking about how we are headed into a Massive Depression and how bad it is going to be…

He was asked about the FEMA camps and he said he believes that they are going to be used when things get so bad that people lose it! He said “when people lose everything, they lose it”.

CELENTE: And the other thing, even these — even these gated communities won’t be safe, because you’re going to see criminality — you’re going to see gangs like you’ve never seen before. Listen, when people have nothing left to lose, and they’ve lost everything, they lose it.

Celente said there are too many wild cards to predict the future but you can see the “face” of the future in current trends and events. The troubles in Greece are a good indication of what could happen in the U.S., he said.

“Greece is a tiny, little country compared to the world overall, but it is indicative of what is going to happen here,” he said. “You’re looking at suicide rates doubled, you’re looking at crime rates skyrocketing. One of the sayings I have is ‘when people lose everything, they have nothing left to lose, they lose it.’”
