“A hotel mini-bar allows you to see into the future what a can of soda will cost in 20 years”

Hotel mini-bar items are usually very expensive. American comedian Rich Hall said:

“A hotel mini-bar allows you to see into the future and what a can of Pepsi will cost in 2020.”

It’s uncertain when Rich Hall first use the line. It appears in a 2001 book, and Hall said it at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006. For further tellings of the joke, the date of 2020 must be increased to a time many years into the future.
