“A median and a mode walk into a bar…” (bar joke)

“A guy walks into a bar...” is a typical form of what has been called the “bar joke.” A math version is:

“A median and a mode walk into a bar. The bartender says, ‘I’m glad you ditched/dumped your friend. He’s mean.’”

This joke was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes (with “ditched") on July 4, 2018, and on Reddit—3amjokes (with “dumped") on November 4, 2019.

Another version had been posted earlier. “The median and the mode walk into a bar. The bartender asks where their friend is. The median says ‘We don’t like him anymore. He’s mean’” was posted on Twitter by Kate Ozawa on April 26, 2014.
