“A guy walks into a bar...” is a typical form of what has been called the “bar joke.” A sandpaper version was posted on Twitter on November 24, 2012:

“Sandpaper walks into a bar the bartender says rough day?”

A different version was posted on Twitter on June 1, 2016:

“A piece of sandpaper walks into a bar. The bartender says ‘what will it be?’ The sandpaper goes ‘just something to take the edge off.’”
