“A sign said ‘Lobster Tails $2.’ I paid $2 and was told, ‘Once upon a time there was a lobster…’”

“Lobster tails” shouldn’t be confused with “lobster tales,” but there are jokes. “Once upon a time there was a lobster… #lobstertales” was posted on Twitter by emcee on September 17, 2013.

The full joke was posted on Twitter by Jake the Long Way Home on November 30, 2018:

“I was in FL on leave with a buddy and one day he kept seeing signs ‘Lobster Tails $2’ and was begging me to pull over when we saw him and buy roadside lobster…So I went up to this old dude in a pick up and gave him $2…He said ‘Once upon a time, there was this lobster….’”

The lobster tails joke was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes on April 22, 2019.

“I usually credit Lou Angelwolf when I steal that joke…That’s who I heard it from in the mid-80’s in Tampa doing Open-Mic at the local clubs…He’s now a well known FL comic…Good dude, too…” was posted on Twitter by Jake the Long Way Home on April 24, 2019.

“Once upon a time there was an ox…” is a similar joke about oxtail.
