“A Texan and a Mexican walk into a bar…” (bar joke)

A “senior discount” shouldn’t be written as a “señor discount,” but there are jokes. “Abuela gets the Senor Discount, too, and she is not a Senor or, strictly speaking, Mexican” was posted on the newsgroup rec.pets.dogs.misc on April 29, 1996. “Why do mexican’s pay less than th rest of us! Senor discount bullshit” was posted on Twitter by Dan Jones on October 2, 2011. “My husband went to a Mexican restaurant and got a senor discount” was posted on Twitter by The Other Karen on March 24, 2012.

Sometimes the “señor discount” joke is written in the form of a bar joke. “An American and a Mexican went to a bar. The Mexican got a Senor Discount” was posted on Twitter by Arun Cavale on September 20, 2016. “A Texan and a Mexican walk into a bar and order a beer. Bartender to the the Texan: That will be $5. Bartender to the Mexican: That will be $3. The Texan, upset, asks why the same beer cost less for the Mexican. The Bartender replies, ‘Señor Discount’” was posted on Reddit—Dadjokes on March 3, 2019.
