“A Wednesday with no rain in the forecast. I guess that makes this a dry hump day” was posted on Twitter by Westy on April 7, 2010. “Wednesdays with no rain makes for a dry hump day” was posted on Twitter by Tara on October 7, 2010.
“A Wednesday with no rain is a dry hump day” was posted on Twitter by American comedian Demetri Martin on September 7, 2011. This didn’t coin the joke, but it popularized it.
“Hopefully we’ll have a dry hump day” was said on a Detroit newscast in May 2015.

During a morning broadcast on Detroit’s Fox 2 News the network’s breakfast team – Jay Towers, Amy Andrews and Alan Longstreet – engaged in some casual conversation about the week.
“Just flying by this week, it’s Wednesday, right?” Andrews asks Longstreet, who responds, “I think so”.
“Hump day!” Andrews continues, before delivering the kicker: “Hopefully we’ll have a dry hump day.”
